SPEAKER 25th JUNE 2020 7.30pm via Zoom.

As the lockdown relaxes, you may be thinking ahead about future travel plans.

But why the talk on Majorca? For some, a holiday there conjures up an image of “Sun, Sea and Sangria” or even of "drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll " – rather than an ideal venue for travel photography.

Although mass market tourism still exists there, as the talk will show there is an alternative Majorca – the relatively unspoiled beautiful rocky mountainous north coast, and in the peaceful interior of the island with its UNESCO world Heritage site of the Tramuntana mountains.

The harsh lighting and strong shadows of Mediterranean sunshine can make photography there difficult – but, as you’ll see, it is not impossible.

So join us for a relaxing evening with a potpourri of images – not only of stunning scenery but also of a great variety of photo opportunities including flora, fauna, architecture, history, geology, and even a little bit of hedonism – which together make Majorca magical.
