Macro competition

Updated: May 3

7th May 2020 saw the judging of our macro competition. Entries from club photographers were expertly judged by our resident macro specialist photographer, Paul Sievers.

“Macrophotography is extreme close-up work often of very small subjects in which the size of the subject on the negative or image sensor and then on the photograph is equal to or greater than life size. There are a number of techniques to achieve this and the image does not necessarily have to be taken with a dedicated macro lens.”

Congratulations to the following photographers:

1st - Helenium Honey Bee by Ray Hems

2nd - Poppy by Jenny Bailey

3rd - Dandelion Seeds by Steven Parker

Highly Commended - Bee on Sunflower by Karen Reeve

Highly Commended - Yellow Glow by Alvin Webb
